CHICAGO – July 1, 2008 – Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), the electrical and computer engineering honor society, today announced the illustrious list of industrial and academic representatives comprising the 2008-2009 HKN Board of Governors. New additions to the board of governors include Mr. Michael A. DeMaioribus and Dr. David A. Hodges as directors of the East-Central and West Regions, respectively.
The new executive committee will be led by President Bruce Eisenstein, previous HKN vice president; Vice President Stephen Goodnick, former HKN director of the West Region; and J. David Irwin, former HKN President. Concluding terms were held by Dr. Teresa Pace and Mr. Karl Martersteck.
"Dr. Pace and Mr. Martersteck have contributed immensely to HKN these past few years and the organization has most certainly benefited from their support, enthusiasm, experience and vision," commented HKN Executive Director Mr. Roger Plummer.
Dr. Eisenstein further commented, "We are looking forward to a momentous and significant year for HKN. The board of governors will strive to make the value of HKN membership as great as possible as a benefit to the new members as well as the HKN alumni. The prospects for HKN have never been brighter."
East-Central Regional Director Mr. DeMaioribus (HKN-Xi chapter) is currently senior vice president at Dynetics, Inc. Since joining Dynetics in 1977, he has developed designs, implemented hardware/software systems, and performed laboratory, hardware-in-the-loop, field and live-fire testing as well as developed detailed computer models and integrated weapon system simulations to support both analysis and test activities. He remains active in the ECE department at Auburn University serving as chairman of the Industrial Advisory Board.
Western Regional Director Dr. David Hodges (HKN-Kappa chapter) formerly served as EECS department chair and dean of the college of engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, where he co-founded Berkeley's Competitive Semiconductor Manufacturing Program. He currently serves as professor emeritus and his research focuses on semiconductor manufacturing systems. He is a fellow of the IEEE and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
