International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors
The International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) is an assessment of semiconductor technology requirements. The objective of the ITRS is to ensure advancements in the performance of integrated circuits. This assessment, called roadmapping, is a cooperative effort of the global industry manufacturers and suppliers, government organizations, consortia, and universities.

Limits to Binary Logic Switch Scaling: A Gedanken Model (PDF)
This paper considers device scaling and speed limitations on irreversible von Neumann computing that are derived from the requirement of "least energy computation." It considers computational systems whose material realizations utilize electrons and energy barriers to represent and manipulate their binary representations of state.

New Frontiers: Self-Assembly and Nanoelectronics (PDF)
In the quest for new semiconductor materials and processes, researchers focus on self-assembly, a concept that draws from diverse disciplines such as chemistry, biology, material science, and electrical engineering.
