Dr. Eddie Pettis was inducted to the Gamma Phi Chapter of Eta Kappa Nu at the University of Arkansas in November 2001. He became an active member of Beta Chapter upon his arrival at Purdue University for graduate school in August 2003. During his five years at Purdue, Dr. Pettis served HKN as President, Industry Chair, Pledge Trainer, and a member of countless committees. He was instrumental in organizing the first Regional Leadership Conference (Fall 2006) and the Beta Chapter Centennial (Fall 2006).
He represented Beta Chapter at numerous university events, including the Silicon Valley Technical Symposium and the College of Engineering Student Advisory Board. His sustained efforts were recognized by Beta Chapter with the Outstanding Active Award.
Dr. Pettis received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in May 2008 and was named a finalist for the Chorafas Top Doctoral Student Award. He is currently employed by Google in Mountain View, California.
